Avoid in pregnancy.
Harmal is well tolerated in therapeutic doses. Yet, in high doses, it may result in neuro-sensorial symptoms, visual hallucinations, slight rise of body temperature, bradycardia, low BP, psychomotor agitation, tremors, ataxia and vomiting, paralysis, liver degeneration, euphoria, convulsions, etc. Harmal is not safe during pregnancy as it may result in abortion.
